EPIC - Middle School Youth Rally 2021
Saturday, August 7th at Blessed Sacrament Huguenot School School, 11:00am-7:00pm
The diocese's new EPIC event continues on the tradition of the previous Diocesan Middle School Youth Rally, though some changes have been made to make things even more engaging! EPIC is a high-energy event filled with opportunities to gather as a larger community; the day will be all about integrating fun and community building with the richness of our Catholic faith. The day involves tons of fun events including inflatables, games, music, a service project, and also includes lunch and Mass.
Who should attend?
The Middle School Youth Rally is open to all youth who are rising 6th-8th graders (that is, they will be in 6th-8th grade for the 2021-2022 school year).
What does it cost?
The registration fee is $50 per participant. However, we want all of our youth to be able to attend - please do not let the fee be an obstacle! If you would like to request reduced or no cost registration (or if you would like to make a donation to our scholarship and travel fund to support another student needing such help) you can submit a partial payment or an additional amount when you pay the registration fee. More details on that below.
Is there transportation to and from Lourdes?
Yes, we are arranging a carpool from the Church to the event. The plan would be to have the carpool depart Lourdes at 10:00am (so please arrive at Lourdes at about 9:45, for an on-time departure!) and would return at about 8:00pm that day.
How do I sign up?
You can sign up by contacting our parish youth minister Steven Cottam at [email protected] or 804-262-7315 ext 237 for any assistance needed, but basically registration has two steps:
1) First, please print and complete this registration form and return it to Mr. Steven. Since the diocese needs the forms to be signed, we sadly currently do not have fully online registration... however, you can certainly take pictures or scans of the completed forms and email them to Mr. Steven ([email protected]). You can also return the forms to the parish office in-person or via mail.
2) Second, pay the registration fee. The fee can be paid online via paypal or with a check or cash (checks should be made out to Our Lady of Lourdes Church). If you'd like to pay online, then either a) email Mr. Steven and ask for a payment link, or b) return your forms electronically - Mr. Steven will automatically email an online payment link to all forms returned as scans via email. The payment link will accept partial payments, so partial payment and scholarship requests can be made in the online payment system. For those not wanting to pay online, please just return the payment to the parish office when submitting your forms or at another time convenient to you - and again, scholarship requests or donations can be made by just submitting a different amount at the time you return payment.
While there is no limit on the total number of youth we can bring, we are limited to needing one Virtus trained adult chaperon per six participants. Therefore, if you are Virtus trained and would like to chaperone, please let me know!
When is the deadline to register?
All registrations are due by Sunday, July 4th.
