Virginia Catholic Youth Day at Busch Gardens
Saturday, October 1st, 2016
Virginia Catholic Youth Day is a fun-filled day for families and youth from all across the diocese to gather in community and fellowship - the event includes admission to the park all day long, Sunday Vigil Mass, and dinner as a Diocese. If you are interested in attending, please read on below for details!
What is the schedule of the day?
10:00 am - Busch Gardens opens - ticket pick-up and distribution (the diocese will give all our tickets to Mr. Steven, and you will need to collect your tickets from Mr. Steven once you arrive at the park)
3:15 pm - Celebration of Sunday Vigil Mass at Abbey Stone Theatre at Busch Gardens
5:30 pm - Diocesan all-you -can-eat dinner buffet opens at Black Forest Pavilion
6:00 pm - Howl-O-Scream event begins
6:30 pm - Dinner buffet closes
12:00 am - Park closes
Who can attend?
This event is open to all youth and families from across the Diocese - there is no age minimum or maximum. However, youth below 5th grade must be accompanied by a parent.
What does it cost?
The Diocese gets reduced rate tickets for this event. There are three prices available depending on which portions of the event you would like to attend:
All-Inclusive Pass - $61 per individual - this includes admission to the park all day, Sunday Vigil Mass, and a ticket to the all-you-can-eat dinner
Park Admission Ticket - $54 per individual - this includes admission to the park all day and Sunday Vigil Mass. This ticket does NOT include dinner.
Dinner and Mass Ticket Only - $12 individual - this includes admission to the Sunday Vigil Mass and the dinner. This ticket does NOT include any rides or access to park amusements.
How do I get tickets?
Please contact our Our Lady of Lourdes Youth Minister, Steven Cottam (scottam@ollrichva.org or 804-262-7315 ext 237), and tell him how many of each type of ticket you would like to purchase (we have to order all of our tickets together as a parish). Then, please deliver payment to the parish office at your earliest convenience (checks should be made out to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church).
If you are attending the day as a family (a parent or guarding will be accompanying their youth), that's it! However, if a youth is attending without a parent in attendance, you must also fill out this permission slip and return it to the parish office before October 1st. While there are no limits on the total number of youth we can bring, we are limited to needing one adult chaperon per six youth - so please let me know if you are a VIRTUS trained adult interested in chaperoning.
What is the deadline?
All ticket orders must be in by Sunday, September 25th.
For additional questions, concerns, or comments, or to order tickets, contact Steven Cottam at scottam@ollrichva.org or 804-262-7315 ext 237.
